A certain person started commenting on Herculodge a few days ago. His first two comments were anger-laden over his disagreement with a radio review of mine. I don't normally delete reviews, so I kept his comments and responded to them in a civil tone.
But finally the reader's third review, posted today, was personally attacking someone else because this angry reader didn't like the way this radio reviewer maximized his AM reception, thought that it was stupid and believed his own way is far superior. To my mind, his hostility was misplaced. Or perhaps I'm wrong to play amateur psychologist. In any event, I deleted his post. Here's what I'd respectfully say to him:
Dude, we're just talking about radios. We're not discussing world hunger, cancer, viral infections, earthquake safety. We're talking about radios. You don't need to attack me, my readers, or some reviewer whose posts are linked to my blog. Lighten up, get a grip, smell the flowers, and, yes, enjoy your radios anyway you'd like.
Until then, I have to delete your hostile, insulting comments.

Good! I support you 100%.

Okay, Ed, I support you 100% as well.

I support Sgt. Carter! I just bought Gomer Pyle, USMC (the entire series on DVD) for my seven year old and I to watch (or is that "and me" to watch?). We're in the middle of Gilligan's Island, so Gomer is next. Hopefully, Carter won't scare the hell out of him.

Agreed with all of the above! One of the best things about this wonderfully written blog is the civil discourse it fosters. We can sure disagree, but it's more interesting when we do so in a respectful way.
Also agree 100% on Sgt Carter! Thank God that MeTV has resurrected great shows like Gomer Pyle USMC!

Seriously? Rants about radios? Almost makes me want to read the posts for humor value. I come here for a level-headed manliness recharge. Granted, there are a few too many watch pictures (!) separating radio content but one must accept the good with the bad!

Keep up the great work!

Jeff, that was rational and well stated. One can only hope the commenter will learn from this experience and utilize it to improve his online behavior here or elsewhere.
