Looks like SANGEAN decided to use Sangean PR D7 as a base for their new internet/digital radio, after they abandoned the idea of Sangean WFR 27,which was based on Sangean PR D5 model. Let's see what will it be like. In the meantime, believe it or not, I jumped for Sangean PR D6 (I know man points will be lost, but I somehow have a good feeling about that radio. Sorry!). Review coming in few weeks when I finally receive it and play it.
Best,
Ante

Jeff, "reuse" is how you make money in hardware or software engineering, that is basing your new design on a previous proven product design, even if it is just the enclosure. I hope this is a highly successful product for Sangean.

I made the mistake of buying an internet radio with only 5 presets and no way to connect via cable to my network. What a mistake. I ultimately gave it away and replaced it with one that had 99 presets and the ability to use either Wifi or a hard wired connection. The Sangean does seem to have other features though which mine does not have: portable, FM, USB.

I was excited about the D5-based internet radio because it would have 2 speakers and perhaps provide better sound than the portables out there today; I believe none has two speakers. This product is destined to be a somewhat sleaker version of my Grace Allegro, which has 10 presets and works very well. I can't see what would make me buy this particular internet radio; and I am a big wifi radio fan.
