I recently sold a dozen watches, including 4 Venoms, which didn't fit my wrist well, to make room for a couple of more mature watches. By mature, I mean timepieces I can wear without blinging out the room or looking like a clown auditioning for the circus.
With a 47mm bezel, the Invicta Ocean Speedway Reserve is a substantial watch, owing in part to its thick bracelet, but it's not oversized like my 52-59mm Invictas.
The gunmetal model (0762) to me is more stunning in photographs than it is in person. A nice, subtle timepiece, but doesn't have the wow of the silver (10590), partly because the silver sunray dial on the latter has a beautiful shine that brings the watch together.
I'm glad I paid less than half for these watches, winning both with low bids on eBay. I wouldn't pay $300, their common asking price.
I noticed one seller referred to the combat gunmetal as the "Invicta Ocean Reef II," and I see the similarities between the two. However, while both are very nice in their own way I prefer the Ocean Reef if for only one reason: The Reef has a screw-down crown; the Ocean Speedway does not, relying on an internal gasket for its water-proof feature. You should be able to get an Ocean Reef for about $150 on eBay. Look for these models: 1854, 1855, 6761, which in my opinion represent the best the Reef has to offer, all stainless with no polymer worked in the bezel or bracelet.
Neither watch has sapphire but synthetic mineral called "flame fusion."
I like both Ocean Speedways as they give a mature, timeless look on the wrist, but if I had to choose one I'd stick with the silver.
