Since 2006 I've been on an unbridled oversized watch quest, picking up Invicta Leviathan, Sea Hunter, and Russian Diver models, wearing them with mindless enthusiasm until a few months ago when I heard the brakes screech on the asphault and started thinking, "My God, man, this is rather circus-like. This is an ostentation that doesn't suit you."
What is this, blasphemy? Don't get me wrong. I still am drawn to large, bold style watches. But big and bold is relative. The 52-60mm tires I've been sporting aren't just big; they're cartoonish (with the exception of the Invicta Force, an all-time classic).
Enter the 46mm Invicta Ocean Reef and more recently the 50mm Invicta Bolt 1580. The Bolt is a large watch but doesn't enter circus territory like my Leviathans and Sea Hunters.
I also got lucky on the price. I put a low bid, $130, on Father's Day and it must have been slow at eBay headquarters because I won it at that very low price.
I like the clean nonchrono sunray silver dial. The bracelt is comfortable. If I had a complaint it's that the crown doesn't tighten down. You're getting a huge date at the 12 position, which is nice.
At 50mm, the Bolt is a big watch, to be sure, bold and aggressive, but it's not so oversized that you can't wear it every day.
Jeff: Holy cow, does your wife know about this?

It's on the internet now. When you mentioned that you knew Ginger's boyfriend, you didn't say anything about...

Yeah, that's a different Jeff, I'm sure. Those photos bring back memories, however.
