Does Amazon Dump Bad Radio Batches at Discounted Prices?

Addressing the poor quality of a CCRadio- SW purchased by Gary, Ken K writes:

I wonder if Amazon knew about a lousy batch and that's why they dumped them at that low price.

Seems they did the same thing a few years ago on a closeout of $21 on the GE SRIII. I bought one and it was awful and so did quite a few other people.
