Apologists for chronic pot smoking and those who see pot as a natural panacea brought by some pungent Earth Mother won't like the news of this new study, which I heard about on KPCC's Brand and Martinez.
The lead researcher of this study is Madeline Meier, psychologist at Duke University.
The implication being that once you get to 18 you're good to go.

Making reference to the results of any study without citing the source of its funding is meaningless. Who funded this study?

Adults are no longer in the process of high brain development, so they're not as vulnerable, the researcher stated.

I know, I'm half kidding. I think it is an important point, though; also, the study seems to imply heavy use rather than occasional/recreational.

Did we really need a study to confirm this? There are of course exceptions, including people I know who are brilliant and who smoke pot like I eat Tic-Tacs or M&Ms----but the "burn out" caricature is based on something very real.
