Addressing my desire to purge my oversized watches from my collection, Angelo writes:
I think after investing so much in the Invictas----that points to a love of the watches/brand that might return. The reality is that at this point in time, a cabinet full of Invictas not being worn isn't doing anyone any good----so yes, selling them to finance other purchases is a good idea. But my advice is not to purge down to zero. I think keeping a couple of your very favorite ones----or unusual ones----is a smart approach. There will be a certain nostalgia to slipping one on----taking you back to 2010----when the desire for more and better Invictas was at its peak. And truth be told, they are nice watches. I have two of them and I have no plans to sell either.
I agree and have said much the same to you (and myself). I'd recommend at least keeping one or two of each of your favorite styles (which I believe are Ocean Reefs, Russian Divers, and Subaqua Specialty Reserves, if I remember correctly?) and maybe one or two other, more unusual watches. What do you have left, two dozen Invictas? Maybe keep 6-10 of them.
If I were you I'd go through a gradual process of elimination and sell those you least like and go step by step. As you go you may find it easy to decide which ones to keep longer term.
On the other hand, much of my current purge is size related and I don't see myself ever going back to 52mm watches - they're just too big for my arms. Style is different, though, as it changes over time and sometimes cycles back. So even though I'm not wearing my favorite non-massive Invictas these days, I think there's a good possibility I'll wear them in the future. That's why I'm keeping my mid-size SAS, my Capsule, an Ocean Speedway, an Ocean Reef, and one or two others.

Did either of you ever have one of these Invictas?

No, I read that it's not comfortable, that the crown digs into the hand. I dug the look 2 years ago but now I'm off it.

There was a short period of time where I ALMOST liked the Coalition Forces watches, but I never quite got there. As Herc said, they look really awkward and unwieldy, especially if you have a small wrist.
