Jonny has been exploring Festina brand for some time. I recalled one of my favorite eBay sellers featuring them and going to his site I came across this Festina Solid Steel Chrono. Very rugged look.

Really nice. I especially like the unusual bracelet - I haven't seen anything like that before. I've noticed Festina makes a lot of watches in that 45-50mm sweetspot.
A few weeks ago I wondered where I'd go from Seiko. I knew I'd continue to look at Seikos but couldn't imagine other brands that would hold my interest. Citizen was the most likely candidate but I couldn't find many that I really liked. Then I discovered Orient and now my interest in Festina is reinvigorated. So the point being, there's life beyond Seiko. Seiko remains my go-to brand, but they can only do so much. It is nice knowing there are other mid-range brands to look at.

By the way, don't get me wrong: I don't see Festina replacing Seiko, but that they're in the same category as Citizen, Orient, Victorinox, maybe Invicta and Tissot as well, as mid-range brands worth checking out. It is just so easy to get fixated; I like having options to look at.
