Have you had Apothic Red? I don't know if it is "jammy" - and I think it is a mix of full-bodied varietals - but it is a very good, drinkable $12ish bottle of wine.
I'm more of a craft beer guy, but when we went through a red wine phase awhile back, when we discovered Apothic Red we couldn't drink anything else for a bit.

I love Apothic Red. I've been buying it for 5 years or so and I've never had a bad bottle. All vintages seem good, a very consistent wine.
