I'm seeing a lot more radios with built in MicroSD slots. Most are poorly implemented, but it's a nice option to have just the same.
Perhaps someone will get it right sooner or later. I hope so, anyway.

I can't help but wonder if these new radio/MP3 player combinations will take over the iPod/MP3 player market at some point. Will they become the new "Walkmans"?

Hi,

A family member bought this (Degen DE32) for me as a gift. The instructions are in Chinese, but I do not know how to read Chinese, unfortunately. I’m hoping that someone here can help me with some (hopefully) simple questions. I’m not sure how to upload an Mp3 onto this player. I tried plugging it into a computer port. It lit up, but it didn’t show up as a device when I attempted to upload an Mp3. Do I need a Micro SD card to do that? Once you upload a few Mp3 recordings, is there a way to go to a specific one, or to control the order? Also: what are the two round rolling buttons on the back of the unit? Help!

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Jim, I haven't used a Degen, but generally speaking, if there's a MicroSD slot, the radio is looking for MP3 files on the card in that slot. I bought a MicroSD card for my Meloson, but I find I'm more likely to just connect my smart phone to the aux in and stream it that way, it's much faster than moving files and dealing with tiny physical media.
