This Orient World Stage Collection with quartz battery and a strapping 54mm case size (almost scandalous for the Orient brand) goes for a little under $400 on eBay.

What is manly about these watches? What is manly in general about watches with features which nobody ever uses like chronometers, fancy dials, and the numbers 10, 20, 30, ... written in big font?
A real manly watch is simple, elegant, and very very functional.

Albert, I agree with you about function and I've gotten rid of many watches that lacked function, lume for example. But style is part of it. So is aesthetic. I suppose we can argue at what point a watch is "manly" or just plain garish. Of course, then arguing is irrelevant since we're dealing with taste. But I agree with much of what you've said.

I should add my favorite watches currently have no chrono dials so we probably agree on that point.

Albert - Please post some links to images that fit your description of "a real manly watch." From your description, it sounds like you don't like chronometers or diver watches, but what do you like?

Gary, I assume he likes diver or pilot watches. At least they fit his criteria.

Jeff - But he said he doesn't like numbers written in a big font, which is what most diver watches have on their rotating bezel.
