I'm absolutely aware that there's more than a grain of truth to this article, and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it; the first thing I do in the morning is fire up the iPad with local news radio on TuneIn while reading through roughly a dozen news sites. On mornings with a lot of interesting articles, this can be a 2+ hour process, hours that I'm not out doing something else, not reading a book, not enjoying music, etc..

I agree to an extent - I don't need to know whose house or apartment just burned down or whether or not Lindsay Lohan is in or out of jail. There's a lot of types of news that I don't need. But its a different story if we're talking about things our elected officials are doing. Short-term happiness is not worth long-term tyranny.

I could say the same thing about the ignoramuses who voted twice for the moron Dubya, Mike.
