I trust CR's mileage ratings more than I do EPA estimates. Sometimes CR gets far less mileage in their testing than the EPA estimate. One example of this disparity is the Ford C-Max. The EPA estimate for overall mileage is 47, but CR only got 37 when they tested it.

It's hard to believe 44 MPG for the 6 is accurate----that's miser territory----Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, Toyota Yaris. Makes me wonder if they calculated incorrectly. That just seems like an unreal number.

It will be interesting to see if the Mazda 6 diesel, due later this year, will have even better mileage.
