I listen to Dylan, The Band, Eagles, Jackson Browne and Linda Rondstadt type music. What would you recommend for ear buds that are both comfortable, stay in your ear and relatively noise cancelling? Also is there a small mobile unit you can plug in line to change the balance or the bass or treble like on a fixed unit? I value your opinion so keep at it please. Thank you. Neil.

Koss Plug. Super comfortable, great noise isolation for any environment and good sound. Relatively inexpensive too.

i can only speak for the panasonic noise calcelling earbuds. use them all the time on airplanes. they are awesome for reducing the noise in there.
i have also tested them in office environment, and there they were just amazing, could not hear anything except for when someone was screaming loudly(this office test was with no audio playing, only noise cancelling turned on)

Go here:

Find a set of memory foam tips compatible with your earphone. Purchase, attach, and be noise-free.
I think amazon and RadioShack sell them.
