Always liked the look of that Proton 300.

This is interesting. Wouldn't part of the appraisal process be---to test the damn radio? This one is shady.

They are an auction house and probably don't know a whole lot about radios, per se. Actually, the "collectible" value of tube radios and some early transistor sets has more to do with appearance and rarity than with performance. I understand that nearly any five-tube radio can be restored to working condition by replacing filter capacitors and a tube or two.

The ultra-rare digital GE Superadio-Plus makes an appearance on eBay, but with issues.

The story told by the owner in the description is a heart breaker. I've only seen this model a few times on eBay, and it always finishes high. Interesting to see where this one goes, even with the issues. I would definitely say this is the rarest of the Superadio variants.

Thanks for the mention I think I may offer a bid on WR2 and see what happens.
