I thought I knew myself and that my watch obsession was evolving and becoming, to my pleasure, more and more defined, veering away from "vain fashion" watches and to watches that screamed Higher Purpose, lume tool divers. But I found out my personality is, to be kind, "complex"; I relapsed recently to Invicta Fever and bought a gray Venom 1406 and a white-dial Sting Ray. And I'm coveting 3 others as well. So much for being a strict follower of the Diver Watch Orthodoxy. Another direction has surprised me. Scary. Obsessions have their own logic . . . or illogic.

Jeff,
You have to buy what you like, and only you can determine what that is.

Despite knowing I should save my pennies for a respectable Seiko or Citizen, I really want an Invicta Sea Hunter, and one of the all-white/gold accented Nixon 51-30. (Have one Nixon 51-30 and several Invicta "diver" watches already.)

The bug comes and goes, I have already discovered this. Mine is in it's infancy, I'm all over the map. But it's still more fun than saving for months & months to buy one luxury watch. A question, are the Venoms lighter in weight than other Invictas? Thanks, great blog bro.

The Venom is very heavy and a real looker. I'd call it a pure fashion watch. Due to its thickness, it flops around on the wrist, so don't plan on wearing it for all day; it's good for going out to dinner and such for a few hours.

I found that Venoms aren't as heavy as, say, the Leviathan - mainly because the strap is rubber. The weight of the Leviathan bracelet is substantial.
Jeff, cool looking watch. Go with it - no shame in liking what one likes.
