Made in Thailand with a 52mm bezel and a striking gunmetal combination, different shades of gray, on an H-link bracelet, the real story of the Invicta Luminary 13643 is its tritium tubes, radioactive gas that lasts 10-20 years and emits bright light without the need to charge in sunlight.
At 52mm across the bezel and closer to 55mm in case size, let's be clear. This is a big timepiece, not as big as the 63mm Invicta Arsenal which looks a lot like the Luminary. But the thickness, well under 20mm, makes the Luminary easy to wear. It's very comfortable and the crown does not dig into my hand.
The materials are above average in build quality for a watch that goes for around $275. While for daily use, I tend to wear my Seiko Black Monster or Orient M-Force, the Luminary has a great look, which in gunmetal is for me irresistable.
All these Invicta purchases coming out of the closet.
I personally can't go for 52mm anymore, even with a thinner case size than 20mm, but that's particular to my anatomy.
I like tritium. I'm always surprised when I open up my watch box and my Prometheus Baiji is glowing away, but then the surprise turns to mild alarm as I realize that tritium is a form of radiation.
