Angelo joked that my Orient M-Force is my Elaine watch. Elaine is the woman in Seinfeld whom Jerry hangs out with because he finds fault with all the women he dates. I'm always complaining about my other watches having this or that fault and then I happily put on my M-Force.
It happened again today. I was in my front patio with my girls as they jumped on their trampoline while I waited for Raphael to pick me up for Middle-Eastern food. I had on my Invicta Luminary but the more I looked at it the more I got an uncomfortable Las Vegas vibe. At the last second I took it off and wore my M-Force to the restaurant. Man, I love that M-Force.
Maybe my instinct to sell off my "Las Vegas "watches several months ago was right after all. I feel a purge coming on. I'll keep my two Venoms and my Russian Diver and off with the rest.
...and I feel another analogy coming on. I happen to like Michelob beer. I'm not really a beer drinker, but when I drink beer, I do like Michelob. From time to time, I'll find a microbrew or a big brewer product that's new---something with lime flavor, a dark version of the beer, etc.----and I swear it's my new favorite. But when the dust settles and I'm out to buy another 12 pack----I go back to Michelob.

Except, Angelo, the analogy only goes so far because the Orient is actually higher quality than the Invictas, whereas your beloved Michelob is (seemingly) just crappy beer that you're familiar with. (yes, I am a beer snob).
Jeff, I feel similarly about my Revolvers. In a way they're my default watches that I'll wear unless I'm in a different kind of mood.
As for Invicta and purging, I suppose I already binged and purged, the purge coming in the form of returning the two Sea Hunters and that DOA Speedway Reserve. I'll probably also sell the Ocean Speedway, but I'm going to keep the Speedway Reserve 4365, the two Capsules, and the SAS, and also my two older retired Invictas, which gives me 4 Invictas in rotation and 2 in retirement. I can live with that.
But the focus of my obsession has definitely turned to micro-brand divers. I don't have any Invictas, except maybe the mid-size blue dial Venom, that are on my radar.

That's a good point on the beers. I guess I could have said Sam Adams instead. But honestly, as a beer snob----do you ever find "a favorite" or is that constantly changing----you're on a quest to discover new tastes? See, this analogy really does work.
