LA Observed reports on a feud brewing between KPCC's Russ Stanton and The Wrap regarding a story about internal KPCC problems, including reduced public support in the aftermath of the Madeleine Brand and Pat Morrisson debacles.
While I still give to KPCC because I like some of the programming, including Larry Mantle, I have to say I hold my nose. I thought Russ Stanton's defense (on Larry Mantle almost a year ago) of ruining Madelein Brand's show sounded unctuous and unconvincing. The loss of Pat Morrison's show is equally a source of displeasure.
Russ Stanton's aggressive and hostile emails to The Wrap turn me off even more and I'm reaching the point where supporting KPCC is more and more of a struggle.
With Madeleine Brand starting a new show on KCRW soon, supporting that station is a pleasure.
C Crane has a new version of their CCRadio 2. Does anybody know if the "enhancement" makes a substantial difference?

I did notice that Madeleine Brand Show has a job description posted for a producer for her show that's "host centric" -- what ever that means. I gather that PBS and NPR stations are no better places to than say major corporation. I would have thought that producer would have been hired months ago.
