Sangean Europe is just about to release its new Internet radio, which will have internet radio, digital radio, and FM radio features. The body of the radio seems identical to Sangean America's Sangean PR D15, which again just modified Sangean PR D5. Are the speakers any better? Hard to tell. I am assuming they will release the same radio in US just without the digital component.
Best,
Ante

Both bass and treble control are there, so who knows, the speakers may actually sound better than the PR-D5's... The only thing missing seems to be MW, basically.

I gotta say, I wasn't too impressed by the WFR28D because the FM was a little underwhelming (I know that this is an internet radio but anyone can make a WiFi radio nowadays. To make an all in one with respectable FM performance tells me that the manufacturer took care at the design stage rather than patching things together at the last minute.....). This unit (WFR29D) looks really interesting. Unfortunately it will take months for it to appear on Australian shelves. Hope it's released here in this dark grey colour......

I have an observation----through personal experience and second hand (like this listing), I've concluded that a relatively high percentage of Magnavox radios are lemons. It's a shame----some of the older ones sound really good. The materials are nice. The sets are heavy and seem to be well made. But either the engineering is poor, or some of the soldering/contacts are terribly unreliable. It seems as though whenever I've tried to buy a vintage Magnavox, I've had a lousy experience. I have one that works well----sounds great----a radio I really love. Even that one----has an issue. The "on-off" (volume) knob works, but the "click" is gone. So you turn it on and off without that reassuring "click" indicating it's on or off. It works, but still, a fault. Meanwhile, Sony, Panasonic, Zenith----you can't kill them. And even the 2nd tier brands, Sanyo, Hitachi, Sharp, etc.---have a better track record for working. And the 3rd tier: Ross, Arvin, Lloyds----better chance those won't have flaws. Why the issues on every Magnavox I find?
