Found a useful product for those of us who have vintage (or newer) watches with acrylic crystals protecting the face. If your acrylic is scratched and hazy, this could be just what you need to clear it up. I recently purchased an Orient King Diver on E-Bay and even though the seller claimed the crystal was "in great condition" I guess maybe for some reason, my mail carrier opened up the package, rubbed sandpaper on the watch crystal, then carefully boxed everything back up before delivering to me----because this crystal was anything but "great." Anyway, a few drops of polyWatch and a few minutes of firm rubbing/buffing really made a huge difference on the clarity of the acrylic. It removed the haziness and even seemed to buff out the smaller blemishes. If you hold the watch in the light and turn it, you can still see hairline scratches on it----but now, just glancing down at it, it looks much, much better than before I used this product. I probably
have a few other watches that can benefit from this and when I have a chance, I will fix those too. The kit was around $8.00 delivered, and well worth it. It comes with the polish as well as a cotton cloth. You can find it on Amazon or E-Bay. I think this is a perfect solution if you just want to spruce up an old favorite or do a quick restoration on one of your other watches. If you see a watch with a scratched acrylic crystal that is selling for a low price because of that damage----you can score a great deal and have a strong chance at improving it to wearable condition with this stuff. FYI: I don't think it's intended for glass or sapphire crystals. My understanding is that it works on the acrylic by sanding off a micro layer to get down to newer looking plastic that is clearer.
It worked great for me with this watch----but perhaps on glass or sapphire, it might make things worse. I really don't know----but I don't think I'd take that chance with a valuable watch unless I find out it does work well for those too.
