My consumer money-saving wisdom should actually make me money as I finalize my collection with the following:
1. Oris TT1 44mm Diver, about $975. 5K cheaper than a Breitling Super Avenger, so I'm getting the Oris plus 4K.
2. Seiko SBDL021 Prospex Solar, about $500. About $650 cheaper than the Seiko Golgo, so I'm getting the Seiko Solar plus $650.
3. Citizen Navihawk, about $375. Another 4K cheaper than a black Bell & Ross, so there's another 4K in my pocket.
4. The Orient M-Force Scuba, about $490 but I'll wait a year for it to be about $350, so I'm getting $140 in my pocket plus the Scuba.
5. Orient M-Force Beast, about $350. Nothing like it, so that money is all out of my pocket.
6. Orient Saturation Diver, third generation, about a grand used a year from now. That's 9K less than a Rolex Diver, so that's another 9K in my pocket.
So by this logic a year from now my watch collection will be complete and I'll be over 17K richer. God, it feels good to be me.
I'm afraid your watch collection will never be complete, Jeff, regardless how much you "save."
The good news is that your watches take up much less space than the radios you're selling. The bad news is that they cost a lot more.

Gary, in my experience radios are a "safer" obsession than watches.

Well done, sir.
That Beast is looking good...tempting to get that used one on Watch Recon for $250.
I have a "safer" obsession - books. I probably own 3-4,000. I used to sell them off at used bookstores when I lived in Portland OR, but there aren't many good used book shops in NH. Maybe I'll go back to buying books that I only read a small number of. A book binge is a couple hundred bucks over two months, compared to a couple thousand on watches in a similar span of time.

It's amazing how quickly one can go bankrupt by saving money.
