Angelo makes a good point about addiction:

Jeff: You must admit, for a fleeting moment in 2013, Invicta pulled you back in. I don't see that happening again anytime soon----but watches in general? They'll pull you back in.

One fallacy of addiction (or its lower grade cousin, obsession) is that it is either/or - either you have to be addicted/obsessed, or you have to completely disavow. I tend to think that you're not "over" an addiction until you can participate in moderation, whether we're talking about watches or booze, etc.
Angelo, Jeff and I seem strangely linked in our obsessions, what could be called "karmic isomorphism" (or maybe we just egg each other on a bit). Like Jeff, I was pulled back in by Invicta for a short spell - maybe two months - and then I shook myself out of it. I still own two Invictas, a Speedway Reserve and a Capsule, and I was intending on keeping the Capsule, if nothing else as a reminder. But I honestly think that my "Invicta Fever" of 2013 was an anomaly, a deadcat bounce in Invictaddiction. But its over. I'm selling my last two Invictas and I don't plan on buying another. I just don't find them aesthetically appealing any more. I haven't spoken with Jeff about Invicta lately, so can't speak for him, but I'm 98% sure I'm done.

My Invicta problems started with discontent over lume. Then I started being drawn to a different aesthetic and found some smoke and mirror aspect to them and sold them off.

Based largely on this discussion----I decided to wear my Invicta Sea Spider today (Black and Gold). It's big and bold. My younger co-worker saw it and said "That's a really nice watch. Justin Bieber wears expensive watches like that." I liked the attention and the compliment but I'll leave it at that.

This is kind of nice. I love these '70s vertical radios and the Patrolman series is collectible. I have a Realistic Astronaut 5 that's formatted like this. Great radios for the price.

LOL, Angelo. You both justified your wearing of that Invicta and completely turned me off ever wearing an Invicta, all in one fell swoop. Well done.
