Last night at 3 A.M. I dreamed I was fighting for breath. I was gasping and screaming. My cries were so loud from the living room couch that Carrie thought one of the twins was calling for her and she ran into their rooms and woke them up.
About a month ago, I started getting up around 1 A.M. in bed and sleeping on my right side to minimize sleep apnea, I found my hip pointer was sore. Because I can't sleep on my back in bed and only on the couch, I moved to the living room.
I should have known my sleep apnea was getting the best of me since I kept waking up with cotton mouth the last month.
Last night it was so bad I dreamed I was fighting for my life. About twice a year my "fight for my life" dreams compel me to scream and scare the hell out of Carrie.
From now on, I'm staying in bed and rather than suffer on my right side, I'll shift to my left. No more sleeping on my back. Reggie White, who was born the same year as I, died of sleep apnea. I don't want to be next.
Hey Jeff- Do yourself a favor and go get a cpap machine- I have very mild sleep apnea and I love my cpap. No more waking up 20 times a night and felling like hell throughout the day. It's a good thing- check it out!!

Ron, it could very well be a great idea but 3 things: When I sleep on my side, I don't have it. Two, I have claustrophobia and wonder if I can sleep with a mask on my face and three I'd have to qualify for it at Kaiser unless I wanted to spend out of pocket, something I'd do if I needed it to save my life.
