It's crazy. I love gunmetal. It's one of my favorite watch colors, but I have none. I sold my Nixon 51-30 (too trendy, no lume); I sold my Invicta Ocean Reef 6761 (lume too scanty for a "diver watch"); I sold my Invicta Speedway XL 4913 (the giant bracelet plates dug into my wrist); I sold my Seiko SUN007 (non-hacking kinetic didn't get enough wrist time to keep battery charged); I sold my Seiko SKA427 (like the SUN007, it needs to be worn almost every day to keep the kinetic charge on the battery); I sold my Invicta Luminary (too Las Vegas); I sold my Seiko SNAB69 (played a tad too small on the wrist).
Of all the watches mentioned, if I wanted to add a gunmetal to my collection, I'd probably get the Seiko SNAB69 because I wouldn't have to worry about its straight quartz battery and it's classier than the Nixon.
My favorite of those is the Seiko SKA427. You loved that watch.I think you should just get it and not worry about the kinetic stopping.

"Not worrying." Note to myself: Good luck.

Ha ha. Well let me put it this way. If it stops, it stops - no harm, no foul. You just have to shake it a bit to get it going again. Even if, over time, it damages the movement, so what? Its a $200 watch.
Some things are worth worrying about, some are not. The movement on a $200 watch is in the latter category.

I love the look of the Nixon----particularly the generously sized bracelet links. You really should have a representation of gunmetal in the collection Jeff----the search could be on.
