You misplaced the extra links? Don't you just put them back in the original box as soon as you get home? Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I'm starting to develop a picture. You don't want to sell this watch. You subconsciously misplaced those links in the hopes that it would exclude enough potential buyers (those with a larger wrist than yours) to prevent its sale. Then, you could say "I tried" but still have the watch----which is a nice one by the way.

Sadly, I went from Watch City to work and there is where I misplaced them. Rare event, but weirder things have happened lately.

Angelo

Weird watch thing happened to me too. I went through my watches the other night, reorganizing them. Yesterday, it occurred to me that while I was reorganizing, I didn't see an old Timex that I like----a black and chrome '70s era 30 hour movement with a sort of domed/bubble crystal. I looked for it in my watch cases---in drawers, car glove compartments, pockets of coats---nowhere to be found. Today, I took my watches out to take a few photos to send to Jonny and there it was, in one of the cases I already looked in. Very weird. I also thought I misplaced some links from an old faux Tag Heuer I had. Looked all over for those links and they didn't turn up (I need them for a Wittnaur I have with a similar bracelet that's a link short.). Anyway, the more I think about it----the more I think I included those links when I sold that watch on E-Bay many years ago---which is why they aren't around anymore. I guess as we get older, these things happen.

What's a "faux Tag Heuer," Angelo? Sounds sketchy.

Jeff, are you going to sell one or both of your M-Forces too?

You know, the Beast reminds me of a toned down, classier Invicta.

herculodge

Jonny, I'm only selling this Beast. I would sell the orange dial if I could replace the crown on the cheap but if the grooves are stripped in the actual watch case, I'll keep it because I don't want to give it away. The black dial looks too cool to sell. I miss the Sumo but am waiting for the Benarus episode to resolve before making moves. I want 3 watches: Oris Aquis Gray Dial, about 1,370 on Jomashop, Sumo, and Citizen BJ2135.

And then my collection will be complete.

Also, I'm selling the Beast to give more time for the OSD, which I'm on the fence on these days. Why does it bore me? Am I climbing the luxury ladder and sniffing 2,500 dollar watches? Sheesh.

A little outdated, but some good stuff here for dive watch fans. Invicta does surprisingly well in the sub-$300.00 category.

jonnybardo

"And then my collection will be complete" should either be a chapter or a refrain that ends every chapter in your book.

The OSD may be the overall highest quality watch you have, so I don't think its the luxury ladder. I honestly don't now why you're bored with it, especially if you're longing for the Sumo again. As I said before, I think you need to diversify your three a bit and add a strap into the mix. I'm not crazy about the Super Engineer on the OSD and think it looks better on the Tuna, but that's just me. Have you worn the OSD on the strap?

herculodge

I've never worn the OSD on the strap but straps are not comfy.

Ten minutes ago I thought the book should be titled "And Then My Collection Will be Complete." A refrain for sure.

jonnybardo

On a side note, I'm wearing my Oris right now and it is by far the most comfortable, balanced watch I've owned. I don't know exactly why that is, but it just fits right.

I hear you about straps. Not as comfy as bracelets.

Angelo

Jonny: Sketchy, yes. I bought it in Georgetown from a street vendor, probably in the 1980s. Looked like a Tag, kept perfect time, had it for a long time. I didn't sell it individually----it was included in a lot.

bill

Anybody who's ever collected anything knows the proper number of items in a collection: Just one or two more.

Angelo

Bill: Truer words never spoken.
