At around $730, the Raven Deep Diver, which appears to be from the good people of Benarus, has a Miyota 9015, so its serice costs should be minimum, especially compared to a Rolex. Superluminova C3 for the markers. Looks like a good watch.
I thought I was buying exfoliating body wash with rock salt in it, but upon close inspection my Irish Spring Body Wash, as it says on the label, is "Inspired by Celtic Rock Salt," which we can file under B.S.
Making bubbles that look like rock salt is deceiving. It's like Mock Apple Pie made with Ritz crackers that are "inspired by apples."
Vacationed in Palm Springs the last 3 days. The Ecozilla was a great companion, took it swimming (it survived Splashtopia), slept with it, but its lume can't shine a light next to my Seiko Black Monster, either first or second generation.
With my twin daughters, now 4, presumably old enough to be trusted with not snapping off the telescopic FM antenna (don’t jinx it, now), I decided to replace the kitchen radio, a Sangean LB-100 worksite radio, with the new CCRadio 2E.
I purchased the CCRadio 2E a few days ago as it was on sale and I had accumulated significant Amazon points get the radio on the cheap.
There are two color choices, silver and black. I chose the silver one. I have a black CCRadio that works capably in the guest bathroom, so I thought I’d get silver this time and I looked forward to comparing the sound on the two radios.
With a DSP chip for better FM reception and a bass and treble control, the improved CCRadio 2E has a significant advantage and it can be heard. With the treble adjusted at 75%, I get much brighter sounds on both AM and FM. Any muffled sound on AM on the old model is gone on the new.
My Sangean LB-100, for whatever reason, gave me reception problems with KCRW 89.9. No such problem with the CCRadio 2E.
I heard some 2E models had an annoying beep when turning stations, but mine is free from any such beeping sounds.
I listened to 91.5 KUSC for some classical and the Baroque sounded bright, clear, and layered.
Talk radio on both AM and FM was less muffled than on my Sangean LB-100.
Using the supplied AC cord without the batteries, I had no interference on AM, so I doubt I’ll invest in D batteries unless I want an energy outage backup.
The CCRadio 2E is exactly what it is meant to be: a user-friendly table radio with bright sound, clear voices on talk radio, and topnotch AM/FM reception with weather NOAA alerts.
If this is the kind of radio you’re looking for, I can give the 2E a very high recommendation.
This is my second Motobras receiver. Thank you Sonange K from Motobras who help me to buy and shipped this radio to Vancouver.
Motobras RM-PFT21AC is AM/FM receiver with powerful speaker loud enough to fill up big room. I compared this receiver with many of my Sony and Motobras easily beat same class Sony by selectivity on AM band. In place near ocean, side by side I compared Tescsun PL380 and Motobras RM-PFT21AC . Result was better than I expected. Weak signals from long range AM stations barely received on Tecsun PL380,but Motobras had plenty volume and clear reception ..
I like tuning knob on right side and volume on left side. It is easy and convenient a specially when tune from loud strong signal to weak signal. Scale and tuning precise and enjoyable with smooth jump from one frequency to other.
Four D battery look like work forever. The Receiver has switch between 115 and 230 volts. Mono head plugs work for two head phones, (not for one like in mono Sony)
Beside with strong positive points Motobras has small details that could make this radio better.
Fm antenna is big enough to receive majority FM station but antenna turn is only 180 degree one way not 360. Buttery compartment: doesn't matter how hard I try to put AC wire and plug inside compartment. After installation of battery in compartment, there is not enough room for wire and plug. Bigger compartment or simple AC plug for wire could be good solution.
In my conclusion: in spite of negative points I like this radio. Like receiver it does the jobs to get weak stations with good volume and nice sound. It work goods on battery; it is loud and locks on frequency. It is definitely nice receiver with room for improvement.
I’m 52 so the next car I buy will probably be my last, what some might call The Death Car. I could go luxury with a powerful engine boasting well over 300 horsepower, or I could get something more modest.
With my girls apparently old enough to be trusted not to rip off the FM antenna, I felt it was time to replace the Sangean LB100 worksite radio (muffled sound and weak KCRW signal) with the CCRadio 2E.
It was hard to resist on Amazon Prime, which is featuring the radio, given high marks on Radio Jay Allen, which is on sale till May 21st. With my award points, the radio was a little over a hundred dollars. I'm looking forward to a bright, clear sound, top AM, and DSP-improved FM.
I will get my "first look" at it on Wednesday, the day after my family gets back from Palm Springs.
