It's ironic that my top 3, the ones I would keep if I could only keep 3 and had to sell the rest, are all quartz, one a 5-year battery for the Seiko Tuna and the other two Eco-Drive solar quartz batteries for my EcoZilla on Suppa bracelet and my Citizen Promaster Aqualand BN2029. I wore the EcoZilla to my brother's house in Berkeley for a few days and was constantly in love with the thing. That's my number one watch.
So where's the irony? For the last few years I've been saying I feel more connected to automatic watches, but I guess that's no longer the case.
Will I sell my other watches? I doubt it. I have a history of watch loss regret and then rebuying the watch and feeling like a fool afterwards. I'm in no rush to slim down the collection, but I am determined to not get any watches for a long, long time.
Your Ecozilla is like rekindling love with your high school sweetheart. Wasn't that one of your first watches?
Anyhow, there's definitely a thematic similarity of the three.
As for me, I can pick my two--the two Omegas--but after that there are a few candidates. I'd probably pick the Zixen, but the Orient Revolver, Oris, and Citizen would all be contenders. Good think I don't have to pick just three.

My first bracelet EcoZilla was an Amazon purchase for 275 back in 2010. I prefer my new one because of the superior bracelet.

I think at heart, Jeff, you're a big watch guy and should just accept that. Don't buy anything below 45mm, except for the occasional 43-44mm big presence watch (e.g. the Black Monster).

Yes, I should accept that I'm a big watch guy but at Costco today there was this Tag, for 2K, and it wasn't bigger than 42mm, and it was my favorite watch in the case. I liked it better than the Breitlings. So go figure.

Which Tag was it?

I think it was a 42mm Link with no chrono, just a clean dial and stainless steel bezel. Very simple but bold and clean. I loved it. At 2k at Costco, it probably costs a lot more at street price. I wish I had a link or something. It's hard to read the details with my poor eyesight at the Costco watch case.

Some of the Links are really nice - there are a ton on Ebay. You can sometimes find some Tags used in the $500-1K range.
