Interesting question posed in this article brought to us by Tony. The Tag CEO says smartwatches look very bad and I agree.

Call me crazy, but I see absolutely no need to be tethered to my phone/tablet via a watch. I wear a watch to know what time it is. Why do I need a watch that has to be recharged once a day? That defeats the whole purpose of wearing one. Even if they get it so it only needs to be charged once a week.
I skimmed over the article, yes TAG has a point most Smartwatches look cheap. But I'm also not overly impressed with TAG either.
However I'm sure Apple will have an absolutely beautiful status symbol er I mean watch, and will have created a need for a smartwatch, where there was none in the first place, other than the novelty/geek factor.

The watch will eventually replace the smartphone; phones are getting so thin and lightweight that users are complaining that they're not substantial enough, which means a smaller form factor is called for, so the hardware will be moved to the watch - if you already have a Bluetooth interface in your ear and a Glass interface in your eye, then there's no need for a rectangle-thing in your hand/pocket/against your head. This also means the watch won't have to be an interface, it could be a standard analog watch with the cell bits buried within.

If I had to, I could wear one----but I wouldn't let anyone see me wearing it. It would have to be done in private, in my car, etc. They're beneath hideous.
