Selling on Amazon for $195, the Seiko Superior SRP447 features a 45mm bezel and hand-winding movement, making it a very attractive black timepiece.
While I've climbed the luxury ladder to acquire watches that cost three times the amount of this watch, I find it very tempting in terms of adding a gunmetal black "beater" to the collection.
Another tempting "beater" Seiko in gunmetal is the $320 SSA051, which I've yet to see on Amazon though it shows up on their site as unavaliable.
Very tempting to shell out the required $300 to get my greedy hands on this National Panasonic R-5410B. This radio-cassette player reminds me of why I became a radio freak ten years ago.
I was looking for a more classic look to complement the "Rolex" cues on the Orient Saturation Diver, so I oped to take off the Super Engineer II and put on the Endmill, both bracelets by Strapcode, which has been offering high quality bracelets on Amazon for a reasonable price.
I had two links taken off the Endmill but need another link taken off because it's a bit loose, causing the crown and case to dig into my hand.
So what am I going to do with the 2mm Super Engineer II? I'm chomping at the bit to buy the Seiko Solar Fieldmaster SBDL021, take off the rubber strap and put on that SEII.
I recently moved and sadly the RF is insane to the point that even strong locals come in as hiss. Not fair! I am selling some of my prized babies and wonder if anyone of your followers would be interested. There is one in particular, my Lowe HF-150 that I would like to put out there. It is in mint shape and it took me years of hunting to find one. I am in Vancouver Canada but would trust shipping to some of your contributors whom I have read on here for years. Here’s a link:
I just picked up a GE SR3 (not the RCA version) in mint shape. Wow, what a huge speaker for a table radio. Receives real good.
Other radios on the block:
Mint (never used) SW55 Sony (needs new capacitors) in original hard case, manuals, power supply Near new black Sony 7600G Various antenna tuners Norelco James Bond Radio ( excellent condition on the outside but needs work on the inside)
Just thought the Lowe might be of interest if someone was looking
When I posted about my 6-year-old Sangean WR-2 having "in and out" speaker sound, some suggested that the problem could be my headphone jack. Ed recommended I spray some Deoxit on my earbud connector and work it in the jack. After having some "in and out" sound last night listening to the Angels lose to the Redsox, I took his advice. So far so good. The speaker sound is going on without interruption. I hope this was the fix my radio needed. I hope I won't need to do any updates. The Sangean WR-2 is a very appealing bedside radio. One of its appeals is that it's heavy and and has a low profile so it's unlikely to tip over while toggling stations in the middle of the night.
