Ken K. in NJ

Well this explains why there is the delay but it does NOT explain WHY there is a delay at all.

I have 6 other digital radios that are probably ( I say probably because I do not own the 2E) almost as good, just as good, or better, than the 2E and NONE of them have any delay at all when switching frequencies. So why did they design it this way?.

And as I've said countless times, don't get me started on the cockamamie "handle" which has been part of the CCRadio design since day one.

Gary

My understanding from Jay Allen's reviews is that the CCRadio-2 also optimizes the signal during a short period after it's tuned, but it doesn't mute when tuning like the CCRadio-2E.

CCrane is rebranded RedSun

Ken K, Ccrane doesn't design anything, they just are rebranded radios from China, mostly the Redsun brand. They've even shown youtube showing both the Redsun's and CCrane's to have the exact same antenna, it's just CCrane uses a marketing gimmick called "dual ferrite".

There is no antenna operation going on.

Stan

Maybe they bought a boatload of 8086's and are using them as DSP's.

Gary

While some C. Crane radios are built by Redsun, I believe the CCRadio-2E, like the earlier CCRadios in the same line, is built by Sangean. I haven't seen a non-C. Crane version of the CCRadio-2E being sold, unlike the CCRadio-SW, which is available as the Redsun RP2100.
