Touchy, polarizing, hit and miss, the Sangean RCR-3 apparently is good if you get the right one. One customer in the most recent review says the RCR-3 is "like a Jaguar." Sounds like one fussy radio, as it sometimes won't sync with the Atomic Time in Colorado.

Jeff,
Atomic time sync of clocks and watches is very sensitive to local electrical noise. When my neighbor was using a defective laptop power adapter that obliterated my AM radio reception, it was very difficult to get my atomic clocks and watches to sync at all.
Now that the noise is gone, I find that none of them fail to sync more than a few days a month. Those that have line of sight access to WWVB in Colorado through a window are the most likely to sync. Those blocked by one or more walls are less likely to sync. The ones I own attempt to sync between two and six times each night.
I have atomic watches from Casio and Citizen, and atomic clocks from La Crosse Technology, SkyScan and MFJ. I don't have any from Sangean.

Here's some info from NIST on radio-controlled (aka atomic) clocks.

That's a shame. I really am intrigued by the small footprint of the RCR-3 combined with its 3 inch speaker.
