It's too bad Eton left out SSB reception and a numeric keypad. The Field Radio looks like a rehash of the RP2100 (CCRadio-SW) or the S450DLX. Probably Jay Allen will review one at some point. The S450DLX was a step down from the RP2100. Hopefully the Field Radio is better than the S450DLX.

Amazon still has a few RadioShack DX-402s (Sangean 505) for a mere $35.

I thought the S450DLX was junk. I'm hoping the new one is a major improvement.
Still with no SSB, unless this one turns out to be exceptionally hot on AM/MW I'm not going to bother.
I really, really wish someone would make a full sized portable with at least the basics on it again.
I realize the market is growing a bit thin for such a thing, but I'm thinking it would be a good seller just the same.
