With a month of power reserve after one day of wear, I doubt I'll have any "kinetic anxiety" (worrying that the charge will get too low and prematurely kill the battery) with the Seiko SUN019. Why was my Seiko SKA427 so needy in comparison? Has Seiko made changes in the mechanism? If anyone knows, please pass on the info.
In any event, I don't feel such an urgent need to trim the collection now that I know my SUN019 isn't so needy. Nevertheless, the sale will continue of about five or six watches on eBay.
I'm sure you'll wear it more than once a month----once a week would be better. I don't trust the claim that this watch can be worn 12 times a year and not suffer power issues. This reminds me of the claims Tesla and other electric car sellers make about range. Maybe if every single condition is perfect, which never happens----you can get the range they claim from a charge. But that's not the real world. Something tells me that over time----even a short time----any Kinetic will suffer reserve capacity damage if the Kinetic watch isn't worn often enough. It doesn't have to be daily----but I would think weekly is a good idea.

I pretty much agree with Angelo. Wear the Kinetic once a week & it should build up adequate reserve power. I wear mine about twice a week & have plenty of power in reserve. I am a big fan of Seiko's kinetic concept. I once did not wear mine for a month (vacation) & it not only had good power remaining but its accuracy was phenomenal. It gained just one second in that month. Kinetics rock!

That's a little harsh. I know you're copying and pasting something, Angelo, but it isn't as if Jeff (aka Herculodge) is deliberately putting spyware cookies to infiltrate our data.
That said, I do run Adblock Plus, mainly because I've become sick of the increasing number of adds. The internet is becoming like one of those near-future science fiction settings (e.g. Minority Report) with holographic ads popping up all over the place, customized to the individual. Kind of creepy.
On a side note, Jeff, someone is selling this watch used on Recon for $550.

Jonny: Which one of my posts are you referring to? Was it one where I linked to an E-Bay auction? Normally I don't cut and paste.

It wasn't your comment, Angelo. It was a troll using your name. I deleted the comment.

I thought that might be the case---but wasn't sure. Thanks. I'm glad I didn't see it.

Ha ha. It wasn't so bad, Angelo - it just looked like a copy and paste saying how Herculodge makes money off our information being given away. It seem uncharacteristic.

Well, come to think of it, I have spent a lot of money on watches and radios----much of that inspired by reading on this blog!

This is a very beautiful watch. I am contemplating on getting this one or the SUMO. Would you know where is this watch made?
What does it say on the bottom?
Your reply will be my deciding factor, thank you.
