Gary has apprised us of Jay Allen's Eton Satellit review. Jay Allen concludes that the Eton Satellit is a worthy competitor in its category; however, it's not worthy of the traditional Eton name.

In summary, skip this radio.

What a shame. I've been tempted to get the Sangean PR-D15 but by all accounts the speakers are as bad as the PR-D5's. Muffled.

I'd say it's not worthy of the traditional Satellit name. The Eton name is not very worthy, as they've put out many radios with either poor performance or poor quality control (or both), including the fairly recent G3. I tried two samples, and both were flawed (similar to what Jay said in the review).
It's too bad the new Satellit has muting while tuning, a poor sync detector sound and a miswired antenna jack. It seems like these issues could have been resolved before it was released.
Jeff - Don't you have a CCRadio-2E? If so, I can't imagine what a PR-D15 would add, other than mediocre stereo sound.

I don't need the PR-D15. I just want to fiddle with a new radio. I like my 2E.

For a new radio, you can go to RadioShack's web site, scroll all the way to the bottom, and sign up with an email to get a $10 off coupon. You can do this with multiple emails and get multiple coupons.
Then, type in 'Eton Radio' in the search box.
You can get the new Field radio for $89.99 after coupon, or the new Eton Mini for $19.99, or the new Eton Traveller III for $39.99. Cheapest prices anywhere, and all are nice radios.

Eton is just a marketing company
