Every now and then I'll really want a high-concept watch, especially Citizen's Eco Drives whether they be Promaster or the new Satellite Wave series such as the BN4035-08E and CC2006-53E shown here. But then I start thinking what about 5 years from now? Are these keepers or rentals?
The easy answer is stick to my classic divers and aviator watches, but there is something to be said about having a Wild Card to mix things up.
As you know, my view is that they're all rentals - it is just that some are short, some mid, some long-term. But yeah, "high concept" watches tend to be shorter term.
That new Citizen you like has an interesting combination of high concept and classic stylings.

Just as keepers is a relative term, the idea of a grail is relative. The cost of a grail two years ago was 800. Now the cost of a grail is 3K. Holy cow, man, find me a new hobby.

Yeah, I know. I like the new Orient but one thing it really clarified for me is that I've graduated from "affordable watches" - what I was calling Tier 1 and 2. I'm a Tier 3-4 guy now. Oh well.

Even at 300 dollars, the cheapness of the non-surgical grade steel for your M Force is inexcusable. I had the same problem with the orange and black M Forces (non-beast versions) and put Super Engineers on them. The bracelets were hollow. The Beast at least put a decent bracelet on the thing.
