I heard the report yesterday that Lenovo had put adware on its computers without telling its customers.
I'm trying to wrap my brain around how stupid they were in the face of the inevitable public relations disaster. If your brand loses trust, what do you have?
Windows Defender has been updated to remove Lenovo's Superfish malware.

Leo Laporte discussed this "man-in-the-middle" malware at length during his show today. Like the BBC article stated, he considers it a very serious security flaw, potentially compromising all secure communication between the user and their banks, online stores, etc. Because of this, he will no longer recommend Lenovo laptops, and suggests his listeners look elsewhere when buying a new laptop.

Gary, Ed and Angelo were having this very discussion, including Laporte's scolding of Lenovo, earlier on facebook.
