With the recent arrival of the Citizen Promaster Sky BY0080-57E, a 44mm case with sapphire and Duratect coating, I now have 9 watches and as first world problems go I have taken the burden of finding a way to rotate these coveted treasures to give them all ample wrist time.
Good luck with that. Truth be told, my life would be easier if I had just 4 watches in the rotation:
1. Citizen Promaster Sky BY0080-57E (silver version)
2. Citizen Promaster Sky BY0084-56E (gunmetal black version)
3. Seiko Fieldmaster SBDL021
4. Seiko SRP627 Third Generation Black Monster on Strapcode Endmill bracelet
But since I'm not willing to part with the others, including my Orient Saturation Diver and Seiko Tuna, I'll just have to continue to suffer the first world problem of wrist rotation anxiety. No pity, please.
Sorry for the morning glare. It turns out that 7:20 this morning was unforgiving in terms of putting glare on the sapphire.
Last night, I pulled out the crown on the new silver Promaster Sky, scrolled to LAX, then pressed the bottom right crown and the time moved from 7:30 to 8:30 PM as DLS was put into effect.
Gary says there's a way to have DLS in auto mode. He emailed me this info:
"I think you just need to check that the hand points to SMT-AU when setting. SMT means Summertime, Citizen's name for DST. AU means Auto. The other three choices are SMT-MA, STD-AU and STD-MA. STD means Standard Time. MA means Manual."
I haven't figured that out yet, so for now my guess is I'm moving in and out of DLS manually.
You can also see comparisons here of the gunmetal version with the most recent silver one. While I like both a lot, if I had to pick just one, I'd go with the black as I find it more distinctive.
Both prove to be very upscale and competitive with higher priced Swiss movement watches. Of course, a lot of the appeal is subjective. I'm simply a fanboy for the Promaster Sky's detailed dial, which is funny because most busy dials are a turn-off.
Now which watch do I wear today?
Thanks for the pics, Jeff. I like both of them.

Very nice. I agree, the black is more distinctive and unique. I might have to get myself one some day.
