Purchased for $95 the Timberland EK Brook Parck Chukka in red brown. I wear a size 12.5 and tend toward wide, so hearing that Timberlands wear big I went with 12 Wide and the fit is perfect with a regular to thick sock. No wearing in period. The red brown leather appears to be of high quality for this price point. These aren't fancy chukkas like the Trask Gary chukkas that I returned because they were too big in size 13. I may try the Trask in 12 if the price goes down. Size 13 was $135, but size 12 is $275. Go figure.
Since picking up my silver and black Citizen Promaster Sky models, I just don't have time for a lot of my other watches, so my Benarus Megalodon and Benarus Moray Dart 44mm are now on the eBay auction block.
Essential Seiko reading: Jack Forster waxes poetic on the Seiko 5 and the 7S26 movement, which he pronounces "as brutally efficient and stripped to essentials as a Kalashnikov, and like a Kalashnikov, it is designed to work, as well as possible, with as few parts as possible, as efficiently as possible."
