Purchased for $95 the Timberland EK Brook Parck Chukka in red brown. I wear a size 12.5 and tend toward wide, so hearing that Timberlands wear big I went with 12 Wide and the fit is perfect with a regular to thick sock. No wearing in period. The red brown leather appears to be of high quality for this price point. These aren't fancy chukkas like the Trask Gary chukkas that I returned because they were too big in size 13. I may try the Trask in 12 if the price goes down. Size 13 was $135, but size 12 is $275. Go figure.

Did you consider the Allen Edmonds Gobi? Made right here in the USA. Wonderful Danite rubber soles (they wear quite well), and it's fully recraftable meaning the soles can be replaced once you wear them out.
I snagged a pair in "snuff suede" at Nordstrom Rack for $199 late last year. They were considered "factory seconds" meaning there was some imperfection, but I'll be damned if I could find it.

I want the Allen Edmonds Odenwald Chukkas. I need to find them at The Rack. They're 300 online.

Wait for Allen Edmonds to run a sale. They typically run two big ones a year; sign-up for the email list so you can get advance notice.
Otherwise, try www.shoebank.com and take a chance on factory-seconds. Only a $10 restocking fee if you want to return them.

Good to know. Thanks. I may be a size 12 or 13, usually the latter, depending on the shoe brand.
