Lately, I've been exploring the part of my brain that can only process so much in a watch collection. No matter how bold and scintillating the watches are, I simply cannot absorb them and must succumb to a smaller collection. What can I call this? Brain Overload? Reptilian Malaise? Excess Disorientation Syndrome?

These thoughts have intensified as I started my 6-month watch hiatus last week. My collection is currently 9, which feels like too many. Will I sell some off? Why would I? Because in selling watches I feel like I'm re-acquiring the treasures that are already in my possession.

Will I simply sell my two Benarus, two spectacular watches in their own right, and bring my collection down to 7? Possibly. But six months is a long time to slog through the bog inside my head. I may want to shake things up by then.

As an aside, yesterday I added a link to the Super Engineer II on my Seiko Tuna and with the looser, more comfortable fit, the Tuna feels like it's mine again. I really like it. Funny how one link, added or subtracted, can make such a difference.
