Some big watches I've owned over the last six years or so (all sold) seemed to be trying too hard to get noticed evidencing a certain desperation and weakness.
In contrast, the Citizen Promaster Sky, barely 45mm with a generous inclusion of the crown, has an understated, quiet confidence that evokes far more power than some of the XL Las Vegas Specials.
Noticing this difference has paddled me out of the murky Fashion Lake and into more crystalline waters.
Now you made your Megalodon feel bad.

It's big. I wonder if I'll still own the Mega 6 months from now.

Isn't the Seiko SBDB009 even bigger? I thought I read that its diameter is around 50mm.
Posted by: Gary | March 05, 2015 at 04:27 PM
Yeah, it's 51mm or so. I'm probably not moving in that direction. I would sooner get the titanium Autozilla.

Wait, isn't the Autozilla huge as well?
It is worth noting that your 44mm Promaster Sky is still considered to be on the larger size. I think you're safe going up to around 50mm - you do have largish arms.
But I agree with you. My favorite watches, the Seamasters, are 41.5mm across the bezel. They all have quite the wrist presence, especially the thick chronograph.

Here's a good ABTW video review of the Seiko SUN023 Kinetic Diver:

It seems like the reviewer really likes it, and he actually uses it for diving.

I miss mine, but I wouldn't buy it again because I don't do well with rotating kinetics into my mix.

Speaking of trying to hard, isn't Apple's Smartwatch about to be introduced?

Angelo,
Yes, the Apple Watch was introduced today. I will be available on April 24. It's Jeff's new grail. :-)

My new Grail is a 2015 gunmetal gray Mustang. I saw one in the parking lot at Ralph's and I almost died. Wanted it. Can't believe the 6 cylinder is under 25K.

I like the Dodge Challenger better than the 'Stang or Camaro.
