My focus as of late thanks to my Citizen Promaster Skies, black and silver, has been on more refined watches. These are "jewels." For $700-800, Citizen is making some of the best jewels on the market. For $300-500, Seiko is making some very appealing tools.
Perhaps the most appealing jewel-like luxury watch for under $700 is the Citizen Grand Touring. It pairs nicely with my Citizen Promaster Sky in both black and silver.
For an example of a tool, take the $390 Seiko SBDL021 Fieldmaster and put it on a high-end Strapcode shark mesh bracelet.
As I navigate my watch enthusiasm through new waters in the future, I see this binary watch classification as the clearest way to see what I'm looking for.
At a first glance, I'm assuming especially to non-watch people, your collection might look like it lacks diversity. But you do a great job of changing the personality of the watches with variations on the bracelets. And obviously, the Promaster in black is a departure from the stainless silver watches.
