So that's it - that's the end of the story? You completely surrender to an irrational lust for men's (ahem...) jewelry? C'mon now, surely there's more fight in you than that. If you truly want to overcome this - like any other obsession - you have to break it over your knee; you have to give it up ENTIRELY. Sell every watch and be done with them. There's no moderating an obsession.

So far this is a work of fiction (granted, it's based on some autobiographical material) and hopefully there will be more episodes. In other words, "To Be Continued . . ."

If this ever comes to pass, you'll need to join Watchoholics Anonymous. "My name is Jeff, and I'm a watchoholic."

I'm waiting for the point where you show your wife, on your arm, that $6K Omega that you both saw on TV. That should be fun.

Keith B.

You can change, Jeff, but only if you really want to...

LOL, great stuff, Jeff.

Folks, its satire.

Tim

Is it only satire? I'm not so sure.

jonnybardo

Not "only" satire, but satire is often based on partial truths.

A few weeks ago I said in response to your proposal of selling most of your watches to fund one grail purchase, that you should go for it. Fictional or not, it seems like deep inside it's something you're going to have to do sooner or later. The good thing about your current collection is, as you've demonstrated many times, it can be easily replaced. The watches you own don't suffer from the "perception inflation" that high-end Swiss watches do. Until you have that Omega or Breitling in your hand, you're never going to know if you prefer it to your handful of cheaper watches.
