ABTW on affordable watches that watch snobs approve of:

Frankly, among those on their list, the only ones that appeal to me are the Seikos.

That Tempest Viking Diver is nice----love the bezel. Among the Seikos, I just purchased the (previous generation) Black Monster---and have an Orange Monster ordered too. Gotta love the movement and the lume on all Monster generations---I prefer the older style rectangular indicies to the new triangular ones but that's a small point. This series is available new for a couple hundred dollars and on the secondary market for less than that----a solid value. But as I've learned, plan to add eighty bucks or so for a proper bracelet as the Seiko strap/bracelet does not do the watch justice. Jeff has mentioned this on many occasions----and it took me buying one (finally) to see what he meant first hand.
