Tim suggested I try De-Oxit spray on my CC-Radio 2E and it worked. Preset 2 works as good as new. Thanks, Tim.
I can only hope the De-Oxit will continue to work if and when this problem resurfaces.

That's great to here, Jeff. Now I'll use it on my own radio!

Hate to be a spoilsport, but on my original CC Radio the problem kept resurfacing, and on more than one button, and eventually the deoxit no longer had any effect. Hopefully that is no longer the case after 15 years of "improvements" on the original.
And of course there was the whole LCD display issue, unrelated to the button problem.

In the garage I have several unused radios, including the CCrane EP and the Grundig S350. I guess my wife can have her 106.7 radio and I can have my 89.3 radio.
