I'm a little confused, Jeff. You showed a Citizen NB0070 in the post about this watch last week, yet you unboxed an NB1031, which is blue and has a more diverish style Are you going to get both?

herculodge

Yeah, I'll most likely be getting the gray dial version to "complete" my collection, unless over the next year, probably 2016, a Benarus Moray Dart gray dial becomes available from the Benarus site. That would truly end the cycle. I wouldn't have any place to go from there as I'm currently not questing after a Tier 4 watch.

Ulysses

It's still a beautiful watch. Pretty close to Tier 4 though you'll never convince the Swiss-only fans of that. It has a smart, distinctive bracelet. I face-palmed the last time you sold this; I hope it'll stick around longer this time.

Jeff -

Back to radio. I used Deoxit spray on my CC Radio 2's contacts, and now all the buttons work fine again. I don't know how long this will last, but it is at least an inexpensive and fairly simple solution.

Here's a question regarding the CCRadio-SW: Has anybody found an SSB adapter for this radio? It's an excellent set, except for this omission. I did find an adapter on Ebay, but it comes from China or Japan, and I'd rather not risk it. Anybody?

herculodge

Tim, I used Deoxit and it worked for about 3 weeks and wore off for Preset 2. I don't know about an SSB adapter. Maybe Thomas at SWLing Post will know about that.

Ulyssess, I hear you about the hand-palming. I wish I could get it to fit my wrist just right. I've so far had it too tight or too loose. Part of me would rather have the blue Seiko Sumo for comfort's sake, but we shall see.

Gary

Tim,

I bought a TG37 SSB BFO adapter for my CCRadio-SW from tquchina on eBay back in 2013, and it does indeed work. This is the one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TG37-SSB-BFO-ADAPTER-FOR-S450DLX-REDSUN-RP2100-CC-SW-KA2100-RADIO-RECEIVER-/160658380225

The transaction went fine. tquchina is a good eBay vendor.

Gary

Ulysses,

Prepare to face palm again. The CGT Sport is already up for sale on eBay.

Gary

Well, it was on eBay a short while ago. Now the listing has been pulled.

Gary

Jeff,

I often switch between two strap holes on my watches from day to day, and sometimes even on the same day. So the fit that is OK at one moment might not always be OK. This is why I avoid watches with bracelets. If they have an on-the-fly micro-adjust or full ratchet system that would work for me.

I got my first-ever Citizen watch last month (a Nighthawk) and I have to say that I'm impressed with the quality. Previously I had only researched Casio G-Shocks and Seiko divers. Citizen has some really solid offerings with Eco-drive and automatic movements. Then again, they probably should because there are claims that they are the biggest watch manufacturer in the world.

Thanks for introducing me to the Citizen Grand Touring line, Jeff. It's something I would have never known about and I have to say that I'm intrigued. On second thought, maybe that wasn't such a good idea as now I feel the stirrings of watch accumulation again.

The watch addiction hurts an many ways. I'm about ready for an intervention.
