Gary apprised me of Radio Jay Allen's Sangean PR-D4 review. I agree with most of it. I don't hear the bad FM sound, but I would agree you can get a brighter sound out of the C.Crane.

I didn't get the impression that Jay thought the sound on FM was bad with the PR-D4W, just that it sounds inferior when directly compared to a radio with better bass and treble response, like the CCRadio-2E.

Jeff, have you tried out the PR-D4W's narrow bandwidths on FM? If they do a good job of reducing or eliminating bleed from locals on adjacent frequencies, this radio could be good for portable FM DXing.

I've only set it at normal bandwidth on all FM channels and I'm happy to report there's been no bleed. I fiddled with the bandwidth for AM and went back to the default setting.

After 1K, a watch starts to lose its appeal. 30K is in the realm of something other than watches: power jewelry.

Thanks for your review on Amazon, I have one now and it blows away my Crane and Superadio III!

Zenith Royal 3000-1 on auction. "Appears like new." No word on it's working condition. Judging from the pictures, it's in nice shape.
