I should give higher priced Tauchmeisters another chance. However, my current grail is the Citizen Promaster Navihawk on stainless steel.

The Tauchmeister or Aeromatic, even the nicer ones, would be a beater in your collection----but a really nice beater.

Eventually, I may want a leather strap watch. One of those brands may fill the bill.

Well, if you spend around $150.00 on one of those, you get a hell of a nice leather strap, better than the lower priced ones (and the straps are pretty good on those, too). I've actually been eyeing a Tauchmeister that has two things I want: A very nice looking stainless mesh bracelet, and a Tuna looking case---the shroud look. It's an automatic too, though they also have the same watch with a quartz.

If I were you, I'd get the Seiko SRP637 and put it on a Strapcode mesh bracelet. It has a tuna shroud and unlike real Tunas the 637 has lugs for greater wrist presence.

Well, that ends up being close to a $400.00 proposition and there are very good automatics for half that with what I consider to be better dial design or at least more unique. I do like my Black Monster and Orange Monster a lot----but I have to say, dollar for dollar, not the most watch available for the money. I guess maybe years of wearing oversized watches has skewed my sense of proportion to equating bigger with being worth more???

In that case, I'd look for a Tauchmeister.

Tauchmeister is a good choice for anyone who is tired of Invicta, except Tauchmeister's range isn't anywhere near as diverse as Invicta's in price points or styles. Much narrower focus.

I have a couple Invictas on sale now on E-Bay and one already has a bid. Trying to tidy up a little before another binge.

I'll have to sell a watch or two to make room for the Seiko SSG001: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/seiko-prospex-radio-sync-solar-world-time-chronograph-watch/

I have to say, I like it on the calfskin.
Both of my watches sold last night, including bonus watches. That means 4 are leaving my house. That's good.
