Keeping the Timberland EK Brook Park Chukka

 

 

 

 

Purchased for $95 the Timberland EK Brook Parck Chukka in red brown. I wear a size 12.5 and tend toward wide, so hearing that Timberlands wear big I went with 12 Wide and the fit is perfect with a regular to thick sock. No wearing in period. The red brown leather appears to be of high quality for this price point. These aren't fancy chukkas like the Trask Gary chukkas that I returned because they were too big in size 13. I may try the Trask in 12 if the price goes down. Size 13 was $135, but size 12 is $275. Go figure.

The Lacoste Sherbrooke Hi 13 Chukkas in size 13 were roomy enough in length but too narrow, especially for my left foot. No arch support. The materials seemed cheap. The shoe, which was $159 before tax, seemed to be worth about $40. I returned it. 

I'm now 0 for 2 in the online chukka quest. I really miss those Trask Gary chukkas. Maybe I'll try in size 12 if I can find it at the right price.

My feet are a tough fit and would serve better at a brick and mortar, but it's hard to find time with my twin girls, so I chanced it on a size 13 Trask Gary Chukka. Nice looking shoe but way too much room in the heel even with double socks (and made the feet hot) and I was blistering up badly. My feet are slightly under 11.5 inches and 4.25 inches wide, which makes them, technically speaking, a size twelve and a half. But 90% of the time, I fit in a 13.

Maybe chukkas and boots are different. In any case, I risked another online buy and ordered a pair of tan Lacoste Sherbrooke Hi 13 chukkas in 13. If they don't fit, I may try a 12 or get my butt down to Nordstrom.
